Oh wow i think i might misunderstood this, i always thought the ps4 srw games are in fact localized! because i seen them in english! but now it makes sense why they are in english only for southeast asia and it makes perfect sense why these games are going to be region locked on steam, while here arent many japanese steam users, here is a lot of pinoys, they for example play dota. Like you have super robot figures and these are anyway distributed by bandai in western market even with english trailers. but we dont really know how these works, maybe they just buyout some niche series?

and the roster isnt that big either compared to older games, for example psp one, so it looks like game made especially for western audience. It would be quite pointless to release game only for japan on steam though, when they have english version ready.

obviously there are some japanese fans who want it for pc as well, i remember long time ago i found some sort of mod but it was in japanese, made on some "nobunaga ambiton" like 8bit engine but it had some original characters so maybe it wasnt just wish for srw for pc but rather custom game. and i doubt if many srw fans in japan (where the series have best accessibility) dont own it already on console, if you live in japan it would be actually complicating it for yourself to get it especially on pc lol but maybe it also depends on the specs, its not 3d game.
